Welcome

About Me

If you were looking for me specifically, you are in the right place. Thanks for taking the time to look for me, I am so glad you did.

I continue to provide therapy services in Colorado through telehealth and through Therapy Partners Counseling in Lakewood.

For those that are new here, you can call me Alex. I provide individual therapy and couples counseling services through Therapy Partners as a contracted clinician serving Colorado residents.

Couples Therapy in Colorado

Couples do not come to therapy because they don’t care. They come because they care and don’t know how to stop hurting each other.

To be blunt, if you are even considering whether you ‘need’ couples counseling, the answer is probably- yes. I have yet to meet a couple, myself included, that would not benefit from couples therapy. From waiting too long and contemplating separation to having a ‘just fine’ relationship that needs a little oomph- relationships benefit when you set aside dedicated time to connect. It does not have to be with me, but I highly encourage you to reach out to different therapists in the area if you are interested about learning how your relationship may benefit.

Depression, Burnout & Trauma Therapy in Colorado

Anxiety, lack of motivation, difficulty concentrating may all be signs of trauma responses and are not signs of weakness. They are the nervous system trying to protect you.

  • Constantly replaying conversations or scenarios in your head, difficulty making decisions, or feeling like your mind is running on a perpetual loop.

  • Feeling overwhelmed can often lead to shutdown or avoidance of the stressor. You don’t want to hurt anyone and you are NOT lazy, but for some reason you can’t seem to motivate yourself to get up

  • Whether you are avoiding seeing people because you don’t want to stress them out or worry them. Or you feel to tired and overwhelmed to make it happen. Isolation starts small, but weekend after weekend it becomes a pattern that is hard to shake and separates you from the people you need the most.

  • Ignoring symptoms can be effective for only so long before they pop, and out of nowhere you notice an intense reaction that feels out of your control.

  • Going from a regular conversation or benignly taking part in daily tasks, when something triggers you and you can no longer think straight. Sometimes we describe this as going “offline”, where you are speaking but no longer in control.

  • Feeling empty, or like there is no meaning at all. Some describe it as a state of “grayness” that blankets everything.

  • Going about your day, living and participating but not really being present. Almost like your body is on autopilot.

  • When the noise of the day and the distractions are gone, symptoms are often left unchecked and it is hard to stop them. Sometimes people report not understanding what or how they woke up, but a sensation of dread is weighing them down.

  • Not your I-got-one-bad-night-of-sleep tired, but the feeling of heaviness that is all consuming. The sense of impossibility that barrels over you when you even contemplate starting a task.

If these symptoms are familiar,

You are not alone and you are not broken. These are adaptive responses that you learned overtime to protect yourself, and I would be honored to help you begin to recognize the function of these behaviors, understand your triggers, regulate emotional responses, and build safety internally and in relationships. Hearing that someone slept through the night for the first time, or realized that they were spontaneously laughing again- these are things that bring me immense joy and gratitude for what I get to do everyday at ‘work’.
